TATA Steel Ideation Contest

This post is created as requirement for MIS Courst , Autumn Semester , VGSoM , Batch of 2014.
This assignment was solved jointly by Deepan Loganathan (12BM60082) and Thangarasu Vedha               (12BM60032)


Objective :

TATA Steel is looking for an original idea that will use any aspect of digital technology ( cloud , mobile , Android , IoS etc..) to create an application or platform that can be integrated with the strategic management requirements of the company. Since this is an ideation contest , no software need to be built but paper must contain the following sections.


1.Identify a need or a gap in the current management architecture of TATA Steel.
   ( publicly available information can be used )
2. Propose a solution that will show how the current gap can be closed or narrowed significantly.
3. If possible give solutions of where a similar solution is being used.
4. List benefits -- economic or otherwise -- that will accrue to the company if it is implemented. Also identify potential problems or difficulties that need to be guarded against.
5.Provide rough estimates of costs including people cost that the company would have to incur as a one time expense and as a regular expense.

Business Application - OrangeHRM



Problem Statement :

SCM School of business is a budding B-School with aspirations as high as the sky. It is located in one of the prime location and heart of the city, Anna Nagar, Chennai.

Our B-School is is recruiting of faculties from various streams , discipline and work experience. Hence the management has discussed and decided that an ERP system must be implemented for efficient use of resources, timely and efficient flow of information in the organization.

The ERP system must contain all the necessary information about the faculties viz., personal information , educational background, skill set, work experience, salary information , time sheets , details of the organization and organizational structure .Every employee must have a unique login and password.

USER MANNUAL : ZOHO WEB APPLICATION – FLY E-TICKET BOOKING.

The application consists of the following pages;
1.Welcome screen.
2.Log in page.
3.Registration.
      4.Book your ticket.

  • This is the home page . Customers can know about the services . Click “Login” button to proceed for booking.

  • User has to enter his Credentials which has been given during the time of registration.
  • New users must click the link given below to create a new account.


      3.Register :



  • The user must enter all the fields and click submit. In case of any correction , press “Reset” button.



      4.Book your ticket.

  • Enter the details in the fields .
  • User’s balance will be automatically pulled out of the data base.
  • Once the payment is made successfully ,  balance will be updated accordingly.
  • The user cannot submit the form if the balance amount is less than the ticket fare.
